Mining for Gold – Fixing the Taxes on Natural Riches

Vast wealth is pouring out of Africa, almost untaxed. To pay for schools, hospitals, sanitation and environmental protection, multinational companies must pay their fair share in taxes. International tax guidelines of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) require urgent reform to avoid ‘double non taxation’. Bringing an end to transfer mispricing through the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting Programme, and building capacity with initiatives like Tax Inspectors Without Borders, shows that change is possible, change is necessary and best of all: change is on the way.
